Perogi is a traditional Polish dish, a complete analogue of Ukrainian varenyky. It is made from thin dough with various salty or sweet fillings of meat, fish, vegetables or berries. Common fillings include potatoes, minced meat and cheese. Perogi are most often boiled in boiling water, less often baked in the oven or fried in a frying pan. Perogi are served with sour cream, butter, fried onions or all of the above.
